of our Services

All aspects of the care of the patient with renal disease are catered for. We offer the following services:

• Clinical nephrology consultations
• Renal biopsy service
• Assessment for renal replacement therapy program
• Peritoneal dialysis for chronic renal failure
• Haemodialysis for acute or chronic renal failure
• Renal transplantation service including pre-transplant workup and post-transplant follow-up

Clinical nephrology consultations are seen at our rooms at N1 City or in the wards for in-patients at N1 City or neighbouring hospitals. We also see patients and offer all the required dialysis services at the various other dialysis units in the greater CapeTown region..

Renal biopsies are indicated for:
- unexplained renal failure
- heavy proteinuria or nephrosis
- unexplained persistent haematuria
- nephritis in multisystem diseases

Patients are admitted on the day of the biopsy and are discharged the following day.

Tourists who require holiday haemodialysis are gladly accomodated as we have sufficient spare capacity. It is advisable to contact us as early as possible. Please see the haemodialysis page for details of the dialysis services we offer.

Accommodation for tourists and family members of patients is available at several hotels within walking distance of the hospital.
